Books used to be my escape — now they’ve become my mirror.

I’ve noticed lately I can’t read fantasy or dark academia the way I used to. Life doesn’t feel fancy or free right now, and I can’t connect with worlds that feel too far from my own.

It’s funny how books reveal what’s going on inside us. The stories we reach for say something about where we are mentally, emotionally — even when we don’t want them to.

Sometimes books are the only place that feel like they understand us. They hold us when life feels too heavy. And for me, that’s been the biggest kind of support — from the stories I read, and from all of you here.

If your reading habits have changed lately, maybe it’s not about losing interest. Maybe it’s about reflection. Maybe you’re healing more than you realize. 💫
