I went into Ask for Andrea expecting a twisty thriller… and came out feeling like I’d been emotionally drop-kicked (in the best way). This book is dark, bingeable, and weirdly empowering, and the concept is honestly what hooked me instantly: three women murdered by the same man are still here—watching, furious, and determined to stop him from doing it again.

What it’s about (no spoilers)

Meghan, Brecia, and Skye have one thing in common: they were all killed by the same guy—an “eligible bachelor” who uses dating to hunt. But death isn’t the end of their story. They’re tethered to the living world, and they’re trying to do the one thing no one else has been able to do: bring him down.

Why it’s a 5-star read for me

This book is ruthless in the way it pulls you forward. Chapters move fast, the tension never lets up, and that feeling of dread builds page by page. But what made it a 5-star read wasn’t just the pace—it was the POV choice. Seeing the story through the victims’ eyes (and voices) gives it a different kind of weight. It’s not just “catch the killer.” It’s grief, rage, fear, and that very specific female intuition of something is off and nobody is listening.

Also: the women feel distinct. Different energy, different reactions, different strengths. Their connection is the heart of the book, and it adds this sharp edge of sisterhood-meets-justice that I did not expect to hit me as hard as it did.

And yes, it’s creepy. Not in a jump-scare way—more in a this is too real way, because the premise is rooted in something that’s painfully plausible. The supernatural angle doesn’t make it less scary. If anything, it makes it feel more urgent.

Vibes / tropes (if you’re a vibes reader)

  • Paranormal thriller / ghost POV

  • Serial killer / cat-and-mouse

  • Online dating danger

  • Female rage + justice

  • Fast pacing, high tension

  • “I need to finish this tonight” energy

Content notes (heads up)

This centers on murder/violence against women and the emotional aftermath. It’s handled with purpose, but it is not light.

Who I recommend it to

If you like thrillers that are dark, quick, and high-stakes, and you’re into a slightly different angle than the usual detective/investigator setup, this is for you—especially if you like a story that feels like revenge + justice + community rolled into one.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️This one had me locked in, stressed out, and cheering for these women the whole way through.
